About the Photographer

Born in the north of England, Roger visited New Zealand in 1994 and emigrated in 1997. He was inspired by the spectacular and varied scenery that New Zealand has and especially the effect
of the light in transforming it. He has traveled extensively through the country and has lived
in Auckland. He currently divides his time between Invercargill and Wanaka.

His style attempts to portray the essence of a location, either by overall form, highlighting a feature or making best use of light to produce unique iconic, but unusual kiwi landscapes. He has developed his style, now specialising in the Linhof Technorama panoramic camera. The 6 by 17 cm format produces images of the highest quality capable of being enlarged to huge dimensions.
This camera is uniquely suited to capturing the grandeur of our landscapes, but can also produce stunning results when used for close up photography.

Roger’s work has been award-winning, published and featured in acclaimed exhibitions.
Since 2006 Roger has self-published two sucessful 80 page casebound books showcasing his work.
